It has been the honor of my life to serve you in the Oregon Legislature.

Together we've achieved real results: We stopped tolling on I-205, put money back into families’ pockets with Oregon's Child Tax Credit, protected health care for 1+ million Oregonians, and stood firm against reckless federal policies that are putting our communities at risk.

But Oregon is facing enormous challenges. Families are stretched thin. Housing, groceries, and the cost of day-to-day life are too high. Our communities deserve safer streets and better opportunities for our kids.

I'm running to keep delivering for families in Clackamas County. I don't answer to party leaders or special interests — I answer to you. That's how I've always done this job, and it's how I'll keep doing it.

Mark Meek

Senator Mark Meek is a father, veteran, and small business owner rooted in service to his community — from coaching local youth sports to serving in the U.S. Air Force to representing Clackamas County in Salem.

Mark's story didn't start easy. Raised by a single mom, he and his brother knew hunger and homelessness growing up. With the support of teachers and neighbors who believed in him, Mark became the first in his family to graduate high school. He went on to serve as a Security Police Staff Sergeant in the Air Force, earn a college degree, and build a successful small business.

Those struggles shaped him — and they're why the rising costs facing Oregon families are personal to Mark.

In 2016, the people of House District 40 — Oregon City, Gladstone, and unincorporated Clackamas County — elected Mark to the Oregon House. They re-elected him in 2018 and 2020. In 2022, voters sent him to the State Senate, where he's served District 20 since 2023.

As our State Senator, Mark has:

Ended ODOT's plans to toll I-205 after leading the fight since 2017, saving families thousands of dollars each year.
Passed Oregon's Child Tax Credit to put money back in family budgets
Protected the Oregon Health Plan for more than one million Oregonians
Helped pass campaign finance reform to get big money out of politics
Championed the Willamette Falls Locks and Oregon City's waterfront revitalization

Mark and his wife Cindy live in Oregon City and have been married for over 40 years. They have two grown sons and are proud grandparents to three.

Mark’s Priorities

Lowering the Cost of Living

Mark knows what it's like to struggle — he lived it growing up. That's why he passed Oregon's Child Tax Credit and keeps fighting to bring down the cost of housing, health care, prescription drugs, and childcare. Families shouldn't have to choose between rent and groceries.

Keeping Tolls Off Our Roads

Mark led the fight against tolling I-205 from his first term in 2017 — and won. ODOT's tolling plans are dead. Mark will keep standing guard to make sure Clackamas County drivers are never asked to pay to get to work, school, or the doctor.

Reducing Homelessness

Investing in Our Kids

The homelessness in our communities is unacceptable. Mark is working to build more housing people can afford, expand shelter capacity and treatment programs, and back local public safety — and he's shown he'll break with his own party when it's the right thing for our community.

Safer streets and neighborhoods

As a former Air Force police officer, Mark has spent his life protecting people. He supports giving law enforcement the resources to fight crime and hold offenders accountable, alongside common-sense gun safety measures to keep weapons out of the hands of violent criminals.

Mark helped pass the largest increase in school funding in 30 years and has defended those investments ever since. He's fighting for student mental health services, expanded career and technical education, and strong community colleges.

Protecting Reproductive Freedom

Standing Up for Seniors

Mark believes health care decisions belong to a woman and her doctor — not politicians. He will keep defending access to abortion and birth control in Oregon.

Mark passed legislation to prevent elder abuse and raise residential care standards, and he keeps taking on pharmaceutical companies to lower prescription drug prices so seniors can afford their medications.
